【摘要】:1.1Thisconsumersafetyspecificationcoversminimumsafetyperformancerequirements,testmethods,andrequirementsforlabelingandinstructionalmaterialtominimizehazardstoyoungchildrenresultingfromthenormaluseandreasonablyforeseeablemisuseandabuseofexpansiongatesandexpandableenclosures.1.2Productsknownasexpansiongatesandexpandableenclosures,orbyanyothername,whichareinthescopeofthisconsumersafetyspecificationareintendedforyoungchildrenagedsixmonthsthrough24months,andaredefinedinSection3.1.3ExpansiongatesandexpandableenclosuresdefinedinSection3arefordomesticuseandarenottobeconfusedwithothertypesofgatesorenclosuresthatmaybespecificallydesignedforcommercial,institutional,agricultural,petuse,oranyothersuchuse.1.4NoexpansiongateorexpandableenclosureasdefinedinSection3,thatis,producedaftertheapprovaldateofthisconsumersafetyspecificationeitherbylabelorothermeans,shallindicatecompliancewiththisspecificationunlessitconformstoalltherequirementscontainedherein.1.5Forexpediency,expansiongatesandexpandableenclosuresasdefinedinSection3willheretoforebereferredtointhisconsumersafetyspecificationas"gates"and"enclosures"unlessreferredtodefinitively.1.6Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Thefollowingpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportion,Section7,ofthisspecification.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
