【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoversproceduresfortheverificationandclassificationofextensometersystems,butitisnotintendedtobeacompletepurchasespecification.Thepracticeisapplicableonlytoinstrumentsthatindicateorrecordvaluesthatareproportionaltochangesinlengthcorrespondingtoeithertensileorcompressivestrain.Extensometersystemsareclassifiedonthebasisofthemagnitudeoftheirerrors.1.2Becausestrainisadimensionlessquantity,thisdocumentcanbeusedforextensometersbasedoneitherSIorUScustomaryunitsofdisplacement.Note18212;Bondedresistancestraingagesdirectlybondedtoaspecimencannotbecalibratedorverifiedwiththeapparatusdescribedinthispracticefortheverificationofextensometershavingdefinitegagepoints.(SeeproceduresasdescribedinTestMethodsE251.)Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
